Glam bands that could have been big

Vain should be a household name.
And as much as I enjoy the classic "No Respect" cd....I would choose "Move On It" or "Fade" if forced to choose a favorite.

I'm sorry but I have to say this again and I will always say this but I'd have to go with the GLAMOUR PUNKS - GLAMOUR PUNKS - GLAMOUR PUNKS!!!!

If ANYONE has their stuff - let me know because I checked all my old stuff at my mom's house and couldn't find anymore :-(

I agree with the Vain one they should have been a lot bigger than they were, and also I think Tigertailz should have got further than they did when Bezerk was released, that was a great album

I think I'll change this from "could have" to "SHOULD have"...and say:

-Hanoi Rocks (although the "underground cult" following is part of what makes them so great, IMO)
-HTM/Peppermint Creeps (Personally, I still think that one of these days, the Creeps WILL make it, MTV be damned to the seventh level of West Virginia...er...Hell LOL)
-TIGERTAILZ!!!!!
-Swingin' Thing

Yeah Vain & TigerTailz should both have been multimillionaires as well .... Not to dis BulletBoy or Winger fans ... only using as an example ... but hard to believe those two toured with everybody back in the day on tour after tour and Vain & Tigertailz are for the most part (outside) of small glam groups... unheard of .

Hanoi Rocks would have been there along with Aerosmith and the likes,if things had happened differently... :-(

i am probably one of the biggest hanoi fans here, besides the legendary hanoirocksroxmyboat, and i really don't think hanoi would have been bigger then they are if things went in a different direction. first, there is always the morbid push you get when a death occurs. just ask yourself, how many people know hanoi rocks as the band that vince neil killed someone from. take for instance johnny cash. you never heard anyone say they liked johnny cash but once he died you have everyone trying to jump on the band wagon saying johnny cash was one of their biggest infuences or they listen to johnny cash all the time. nonsense, they are just trying to fit in and be trendy, try being original and make a statement like that when the man is still alive and not the hot topic of conversation. sorry, people like that annoy me.

anyway, back on topic.

sam yaffa already said that he was leaving the band after the ill fated american tour. 2 steps from the move was not a huge seller, granted they couldn't really tour in support of it but still, people were not lining up to buy it. bands like guns and roses/skid row were not around to push the hanoi name back then and to be honest, if hanoi was still around when guns and skid row were around, do you realy think ego maniacs like Seb and Axl would be gushing over hanoi and mike saying things like without hanoi there would be no guns and roses? of course not, that is something you say about a band that is no longer around, not your compitition. (unless it is an icon like the stones or aerosmith) it's the whole dead and gone so it's cool thing.

to be honest, if things didn't happen the way they happened, i could see hanoi maybe putting out one more cd after 2 steps then mike going solo to satisfy his ego, andy hooking up with an establish band and the hanoi name never being as 'big' as it is today.
